As Charterers you may have an exposure in unpaid freight when freight is paid fully or partly at delivery of cargo. Examples are total loss of the vessel or collision, general average or salvage where the outstanding freight may be considered as a contributor. This insurance covers the loss of freight following such an event.

The sum insured is the freight or profit that the client declares.
